Contemplating for awhile if want to blog this up. Not really in the mood, but then again… it’s just putting up some pictures, so what the heck.

It’s a sign. I need a holiday.

1. Friends, not one but two inviting me to join them for a getaway to Siem Reap. How hard it is for me to reject the-so-tempting offer… seeing the magnificent Angkor Wat again. The sunset… the friendly people, the nice food. On that thought, we don’t see Cambodia food much here, in fact I dont recall restaurants serving Cambodia food. The one we had, are only Thai and Vietnam food.

2. Last week, a friend came over to have a short chat with me… and he was telling me that he is going off to Hanoi for a week! Vietnam… sigh…

3. Of the so many times I visited Times Bookstore Warehouse sale, I’ve never really found a travel book that is uptodate and really a bargain. But it’s a sign! I found an uptodate Lonely Planet on Laos on sale
The more I read, the more I feel like going…

4. I came home on time yesterday after work. After my mother finished watching her dose of Taiwan Hokkien drama on TV, I switched the channel and a travel show was on… and that specific episode, they were introducing Myanmar…
(so you see… 1st it was Cambodia, then it was Vietnam followed by Laos and now its Myanmar)

5. As I was looking for some pictures to play around with Picasa, I saw this folder of picture when I visited Bangkok. Ah… the Grand Palace, Wat Arun… I miss Bangkok :

6. On top of all that, Calv tempted me to join him over the weekend to go Penang. Ah.. the good food. Grin, I just need a holiday ok. Despite just went up north 2 weeks ago, but didnt really get to go around much, more on attending a good friend’s wedding dinner.

Despite the sign that I probably should go all the neighbouring countries - Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam. … but but.. the bottom line is… I need a holiday!!

Friday, 20th April 2007
1700 - looked out of the window from office. Sky is very dark
1735 - still in office, and it rained HEAVILY
1820 - friend left office to go to Petaling Street to wait for me
1840 - left office and met friend for ikan bakar in Petaling Street
2230 - left Petaling Street but stopped halfway to talk to friend somemore
2300 - reached home and realised I left the whole stack of naruto anime in office = =”

Saturday, 21st April 2007
0700 - woke up, took bath
0715 - went out, reached carpark, realise I forgot my office tag & went up to grab it
0718 - felt the urge to go toilet (regret having the ikan bakar the night before)
0730 - left home again to go office, on the way, suddenly remember forgot to pack t-shirt & shorts for sleeping
0745 - reached office, grab naruto & my jacket, left immediately thereafter
0800 - reached back home, transfer stuff to a bigger bag in case when come back will bring more stuff (I dont like to carry a lot of plastic bag here & there)

0810 - friend come pick me up to go breakfast
0900 - left makan place to Bukit Jalil
0910 - reached Bukit Jalil & boarded a LRT,
0920 - keeping on looking at my watch every minute and complain why LRT so slow compared to MTR in HK
0930 - reached Plaza Rakyat, ran to Puduraya, Platform 4
0935 - met this Indian guy who also panic cannot find the bus
0940 - ran up to the ticket counter, was informed suppose to be Platform 21 (what the…)
0945 - ran to Platform 21 and asked every bus there which bus goes to Penang. Answer - none
0950 - met this guy selling ticket and he asked where I’m going. Told him going to Penang, he brought me to the bus, parked all the way at the road side, near Nando’s
1000 - bus left KL. Phew. Kimmy said if i miss the bus, she will kill me (Lucky the bus is late)

~ taken from the bus, I was on those double decker bus, for the 1st time in M’sia.

1350 - bus crossed the Penang bridge

1400 - reached Penang and had laksa at the stall near Kek Lok Si.

~ went to the wedding dinner held in one of the hotels’ in Gurney. Arggh.. the next morning…

Sunday, 22nd April 2007
0900 - woke up
1000 - left hotel
1005 - realised one of the car tyre punctured (of all days.. grrr), got the hotel concierge to help us change tyre
1045 - fetched Kimmy’s brother
1100 - Kimmy’s brother fetched us to Bayan Lepas airport, had breakfast in airport. Friends board plane
1150 - Kimmy’s brother fetched me to Sg Nibong bus station
1220 - board the bus back to KL

side note: I know, I could’ve taken the picture when bus passed the bars of Penang bridge. It was taken like that intentionally…

Sis went off to Perth to work in February and the month before, my eldest sis’s ex-colleague also went to Perth for a training for a month (how nice). Anyway, she came back last month and brought back some chocolates on behalf of my second sister.

It’s the Easter theme chocolates and hehe.. it looks really nice. So, I took photo of it
