i shouldn’t feel this way, really…cause i didn’t do that much in office..hahaha…… anyway, i just felt tired, not physically, not so severe… so i won’t say emotionally… but just, you know the lazy plus blue blue feeling…. so i thought i would listen to goldfrapp latest album - felt mountain. they/she’s being idle in my playlist for quite some time… the last time, nay..i didn’t really listen well….just felt that it is so different from black cherry/supernature…not exactly the goldfrapp i known…

tonite.. at this moment, surrounded by friends called lazy and blue-blue … this album sounds ermm..not too bad, actually…..wouldn’t say i’m in love with it….but overall tracks are not too bad.. i suppose, or maybe i’m saying/writing this now because goldfrapp now, are in-sync with my current state and my two friends here…..inside felt mountain there are combos of blue-blue (not soul, not jazzy - both segements that i have yet to acuire taste in, yet…), moderate electro, psychedelic, ambient kind of tunes…hmm..suits my current state….wouldn’t comment all her tracks, one by one..too lazy.. too blue-blue….now… but just a few tracks…. few tracks that i like and i don’t like……

- utopia… the front part remind me of a sci-fic movie.. where the blue alien sings.. cant remember the name of the movie…staring bruce wills and the lady who star in resident evil.. i think called milla something… she has orange hair/wig in that movie.. oh ya, movie’s called the fifth element
- deer stop…. don’t like it..the cocorosie effect is too strong, too hard to swallow.. esp when they come from goldfrapp ……..
- lovely head & pilots….perfect sound for lounge – ambient kinda of setting… nice……

………….zzzZZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZ…………………..

enjoy her in utopia………

This is more to Verb’s area of blogging… but today had not been so rosy for me… and coincidentally, this is aired over Launchcast Radio. I’m not doing much reviewing of the music, so much so for the categories that I’ll put it under. But then again, the song’s lyric is pretty good.

Where is the moment we need at the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion’s gone away
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You’re faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life’s been way off line
You’re falling to pieces everytime
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

You had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day

(Oh.. Holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I’m not wrong

(yeah…)

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You’ve seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

See the child
With the golden hair
Yet eyes that snow the emptiness inside
Do we know
Can we understand just how he feels
Or have we really tried

See him now
As he stands alone
And watches children play a children’s game
Simple child
He looks almost like the others
Yet they know he’s not the same

Scorn not his simplicity
But rather try to love him all the more
Scorn not his simplicity
Oh no
Oh no

See him stare
Not recognizing the kind face
That only yesterday he loved
The loving face
Of a mother who can’t understand what she’s been guilty of

How she cried tears of happiness
The day the doctor told her it’s a boy
Now she cries tears of helplessness
And thinks of all the things he can’t enjoy

Scorn not his simplicity
But rather try to love him all the more
Scorn not his simplicity
Oh no
Oh no

Only he knows how to face the future hopefully
Surrounded by despair
He won’t ask for your pity or your sympathy
But surely you should care

Scorn not his simplicity
But rather try to love him all the more
Scorn not his simplicity
Oh no
Oh no
Oh no

Written by Phil Coulter, an Irish songwritter. The song is reffering to his own son, who was mentally impaired. According to the net, the song was also sang by Luke Kelly (who?). People commented that Luke Kelly, singing was better. Judge for yourself. Luke Kelly or Sinead. I prefer, Sinead version better.

Universal Mother (1994)
Sinead o conors - a name that provokes. The last song I heard from her was ‘Nothing compares to you’. After that, I read somewhere in the news about her little act. Tearing up the pope picture. Then, it’s like she had disappeared. There wasn’t any news (at least to me) since then …. until now. I wouldn’t say I know her music much because I don’t. The one and only song I ever known from her was ‘Nothing compares to you’. Even that, was not her own. It was just a cover version by Prince.

Recently, a friend re-introduces me back to her. He played ‘Thank you for hearing me’. It’s a simple song. Really simple, with two to three different sentences, repeated again and again. The tune is Celtic (if I’m not mistaken). Because of its simplicity, it’s very pleasant and calming on the ear. Something like Enya but I doubt that is a good comparison. Sinead and Enya are two different artist altogether.

I managed to preview the whole album - Universal Mother, released in 1994, which makes it 11 years old. Gosh. I think she named the album well - Universal Mother. If music must be categorized as masculine and feminine, then I would say this album is definitely feminine. It’s more emotional. Most of the tracks are about her child. You even get to preview her little boy singing in ‘Am I a human?’ .Two tracks I like most are ‘Scorn not his simplicity’ and ‘Thank you for hearing me’. Apart from that, the rest of the tracks are ok, but not exactly my favorites. I’m looking forward to preview her latest (well, not quite) work - Collaborations.

The title of the album says it all - Music to make love to your old lady by . Yep, you got me right. The whole album is about sex. sex. sex. Definitely not an album for the kido out there.

It contains lyrics like ‘Why does man go to hooker? First of all because He quite often is not all that happy and sexual satisfied at home His wife won’t perform all the activities he has in mind And most of all, oral sex is a taboo The woman would say ‘what do you think I am? a whore I don’t want to do that’. Yes, its explicit but brilliant.

Some of my favorites tracks:
Sex (I’m a)
Book of the month
Strangers on a train
Stroker ace
Everyone has a summer

I love the tri-hop tune. What more to say. Brilliant lyrics. Trip - hop sensuality. A must have.

I got to admit that this is my first Tori Amos full fledge album listening. Previous encounters with Miss Amos was memorable but brief. The song that introduced me to Miss Amos was ‘Silence All These Years’. I still listen to it, even until now. But, I digress.

The Beekeeper is Miss Amos, latest offering - a whooping 19 tracks album. I got to admit, I was not jumping up and down on my first time listening. Tracks like ‘Parasol’,’ Jamaica Inn’ and ‘Sleep with Butterflies’ merely tinkles my senses. Alas…. after a few rounds (3rd round), I like the album better. The rest of the tracks like ‘The Beekeeper’, ‘Ribbons Undone’ and ‘Goodbye Pieces’ sounds better. Although, nothing to shout about, ‘The Beekeeper’ is an album worth listening and I don’t mind keeping it.
